Pre and Post Cruise Adventures

Pre and Post Cruise Adventures

When it comes to planning your cruise holiday, let’s talk about pre and post stays.

At Ultimate Cruising, we always try to book a minimum of one night pre-cruise.  Often this is necessary because of flight schedules, but even when it’s not, we always recommend it as it allows for any flight delays.  However, often when people arrive in a city and immediately depart on their cruise, they miss the opportunity to explore a destination that they may never visit again.  If your cruise departs from Dunedin, New Zealand for example, tacking on an extra day or two to explore the Otago Peninsula or Larnach Castle is well worth the cost of an extra night’s accommodation.  After all, will you ever be there again?

Pre and post stays can be much more than just an extra couple of nights however.  If you’re visiting The Kimberley, for example, adding on The Ghan through to Melbourne will show you parts of Australia you may never otherwise see.  Or a few days relaxing in Bora Bora after a Aranui 5 cruise is the perfect way to squeeze in a few more decadent days of magical Tahitian hospitality.

Further afield, you may like to combine a European river cruise with the beautifully elegant Venice-Simplon Orient Express, or explore gorgeous Alaska then board the Rocky Mountaineer train.  The options are endless and at Ultimate Cruising we can help you build your Ultimate adventure.  Give us a call and have a chat to our team about where you’re dreaming of travelling to next!
