Aranui Cruises have released their 2025 schedule for their sailings to The Marquesas as well as three sailings to the beautiful Austral Islands. Although they have offered sailings to The Austral Islands in previous years, the 2025 sailings will be the first time the Aranui 5 has carried freight to the Austral Islands. This is fantastic news as the freight component of the cruise itinerary is a drawcard for many people who enjoy watching the ship in action.
For guests who have travelled on the Aranui 5 and loved the experience, this is a completely new itinerary so you can enjoy the ship, catch up with the crew, experience the freight operation and visit an entirely different group of islands.
Situated 600km south of Tahiti, the archipelago comprises five inhabited islands, plus another two which are uninhabited. The population sits at just 6,800 people who typically earn their living fishing, farming or through arts and crafts.
The islands are brimming with history, with several archaeological sites, ancient burial grounds and remnants of pre-European communities. Dramatic landscapes of sheer mountains, plunging valleys, high plains and shimmering lagoons make for spectacular vistas and incredible photographic opportunities.
In 2025, the Aranui 5 will visit The Austral Islands three times – 05 April, 06 September and 01 November. The 12 night/13 day itinerary departs from Papeete with stops at Rurutu, Rimatara, Tubuai, Rapa, Raiavavae, Raiatea and Bora Bora. As per the Marquesas voyages, 3 meals a day, wine with lunch and dinner and shore excursions are all included in the fare.
Aranui Cruises is currently offering a 15% savings on Earlybird bookings on the three sailings. With just 103 cabins and only three sailings, these voyages are sure to fill up quickly.
