When The Borders Open...

When The Borders Open...

The COVID pandemic and subsequent lockdown has certainly made us appreciate the freedom we once had to travel when we wanted and where we wanted.  Six months ago, shut borders just weren’t even on our radar!  For families that span different countries or states, this has been a very trying time and I think we’re all longing for the time when the world is deemed to safe to travel again and we once again have the freedom to come and go.

In the meantime, this is a great time to think about family get togethers or holidays with friends or extended family for when we get back to some sense of “normality.”  If you are dreaming about reuniting with family, or you’ve realized how special and important quality time spent with loved ones is, we’ve got some great options.  Cruising is perfect for groups – plenty of activities, a variety of cabin grades and fun-filled days!  The whole family will be entertained, with the freedom to go off on their own or stay together as a group.  Best of all, no one has to cook or clean up after everyone!

Here are some of our top picks for family get-togethers:

Tahiti - Paul Gauguin

Relaxing days swimming, snorkelling and exploring in Tahiti’s picture-perfect waters, the Paul Gauguin is a great option for family groups. The ship is big enough to give families space, but small enough that it’s easy to keep track of everyone.

Guaranteed to delight family members of all ages, this is a destination that you’ll never forget. There’s a mountain of fun to be had from dog-sledding to bear watching, whale spotting and more. Various voyages and ships are available from May – September. It’s just a matter of deciding which suits your family dynamic best.

The Kimberley

Visit your own unique backyard with voyages from Darwin to Broome or vice versa. You’ll be amazed by how much you’ll learn about your own country and how many spectacular sites lay hidden in this amazing part of Australia. There are several cruise lines to choose from here – again, it’s a matter of deciding which one suits you best.

The Great Barrier Reef

This is perfect for family groups!  Not too far to travel, plenty of opportunity to explore or relax, lots of learning opportunities for kids and some seriously spectacular scenery to appreciate!  Jump on board a small ship here and you will have the time of your life!

New Zealand

Again, nice and close but loads to see and do.  Jet boat rides, forest walks, waterfalls, kayaking, cultural interactions, mountains, geysers, lakes and more – no one will get bored here!  The scenery is rated up there with the best in the world (movie makers are loving it here!) and it’s all just a hop, skip and a jump away.

If none of these “float your boat”, we have many other options available both close to home and further afield. Remember, Ultimate Cruising can book any cruise, big or small.  Even if you’re not ready to book yet, we can help you start forming ideas and planning so you’re all ready for when the world situation changes.  So request a call from of our expert team members by clicking here and have a chat!
