Pop the bubbly – we’re celebrating!  Ultimate Cruising is celebrating 30 years in business this year so we thought we’d take this opportunity to help you get to know us a little bit better.

Back in 1990, when hair was still big and lace gloves were still a thing, The Ultimate Travel Group was formed, trading as Fastbook Holidays, specialising in trips to Lord Howe Island.  In 1994, our Managing Director, Ian Menzies, bought a major shareholding and broadened it to include Norfolk Island and so the business grew and expanded to include a cruising component. It was the small ship cruising that really captured our hearts so in 2006 we became Ultimate Cruising.

Over the last 30 years, we’ve focused on small ships (usually luxury vessels taking less than 500 people), unique destinations and putting packages together that take all the worry out of travelling.  For example, we’ll include little extras like transfers from your home to the airport so you don’t have to worry about booking a shuttle or arranging airport parking.

Not to brag, but over the years we’ve built a solid reputation within the travel industry.  We are currently the top sellers for Aranui Cruises in the world.  We’re also top of the ladder in the Southern Hemisphere for number of cruises booked to Tahiti.  We’ve been nominated for several awards such as “Small Cruise Agency of the Year”. 

What’s the secret to our success?  We have a team who love cruising!  We have an Operations and Product Manager extraordinaire who, not only oversees our team but also puts together some very cool packages and negotiates special rates just for Ultimate Cruising customers. 

Our reservations team have travelled – and cruised – extensively to an array of destinations and aboard numerous ships and cruise lines.  There is a wealth of knowledge there so don’t hesitate to tap into their expertise!  We also have a creative team and our own travel writer who keeps you up to date with current packages, offers, tips and advice.

We have offices in both Australia and New Zealand and we offer full package service from either country, so we can package up flights, transfers, accommodation, cruise, pre/post cruise touring options etc.  If you want to add in a train journey after your cruise, no problem.  If you want to stopover on the way home, just let us know.  We can also help with travel insurance, destinational information and more.
